Kings Road Publishing is looking for an energetic PR Executive to be responsible for their own authors and campaigns as well as assisting the rest of its small but dynamic team.
This position is ideal for a keen self-starter, not entirely new to publishing but in a first job or publicity internship and ready for the next step. If you want to work for a publisher with a difference, we want to hear from you!
A role at Bonnier Publishing is an opportunity to be a part of something different. You’ll fit into our culture here if you have a positive outlook and can adapt to change quickly. You also have to be a team player. We win together, we lose together and we laugh together. We are commercial, fast-moving, hard-working and we have fun. We believe nothing is impossible. There are no other major publishers like us.
The five non-fiction imprints at Kings Road Publishing cover a varied list of genres, including: music, sports, showbiz, quirky gift books & humour titles, health, cookery & lifestyle, and real life/true crime. Under the supervision of the publicity director and senior publicists you will be responsible for planning, organising and implementing publicity campaigns for your own authors and books as well as leading on admin tasks across the department.
Our aim is to achieve the best possible media coverage and consumer awareness leading up to and beyond the publication of our titles and we work closely with editorial, sales, social media and marketing teams. Duties will include but are not limited to: creating campaign plans, writing press releases, contacting journalists about interview opportunities and serial interest, creating media lists using Gorkana, sending out review copies, following up queries, accompanying authors to interviews and assisting with book signing tours and events associated with key titles.
We’re looking for a candidate that has some experience working in a communications team for a publishing house. You are either a publicity assistant or press officer, who has recently started taking responsibility for your own campaigns and are ready for the next step in a new environment. Alternatively, you are an exceptional intern who has assisted on high profile campaigns and are familiar with how book publicity teams work in commercial non-fiction publishing.
