An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Quercus publicity department for a Press Officer who will be responsible for their own authors and campaigns.
The successful candidate will have at least eighteen months’ experience working in publishing publicity. This job is ideal for those who have already started taking responsibility for their own campaigns and are ready to take the next step.
The list you will be working on covers both fiction and non-fiction, so you will have responsibility for titles across all genres. However, your role will have particular responsibility and focus on commercial women’s fiction and for our science fiction and fantasy list Jo Fletcher Books, so a passion for or some experience in those areas is desirable.
It is important that you have a real interest in all areas of the publishing process and the key role PR can have in driving book sales and raising authors’ profiles. You must also offer exceptional author care and have a real willingness to broaden your contacts into new areas. As well as established relationships with media contacts, you will have a full understanding of the uses of social media. You will identify and build relationships with individuals and organisations, creating opportunities and online campaigns, building online profiles and exploring new opportunities. Your role will include travelling with authors and attending a range of events.
In return we offer a creative and dynamic environment and a competitive salary and benefits package.
Please apply in writing with a full CV and covering letter stating your salary expectations to: email@example.com
