Campaigns Manager / Senior Campaigns Manager, Penguin General Communications – fixed term maternity cover 12 months starting April 2019

At Penguin General we publish a wide range of authors including John le Carré, Zadie Smith, Ben Macintyre, Meera Sodha, Cara Hunter and Jane Corry.
We are seeking a talented and experienced Campaigns Manager / Senior Campaigns Manager to join our communications team working across five imprints: Hamish Hamilton, Viking, Fig Tree, Penguin Ireland and Penguin paperbacks. Working in a merged Communications team, you will be running your own 360° campaigns which link up publicity, digital, social and marketing activity to best bring our books to the attention of consumers.
You will need an extensive network of media contacts, experience of working with high profile individuals, and superb communication skills. You will work closely with authors and agents, as well as colleagues in editorial, marketing and sales, so we are looking for a great collaborator who can remain calm under pressure.
Working across a range of print, digital, broadcast and radio, you will have a track record of securing the top PR slots for both fiction and non-fiction. The ideal candidate will also have experience organising and managing events and book tours.
We’re looking for someone who has demonstrated their ability to obtain high profile media coverage that helps drive sales and to strategically target publicity towards an identified readership.
