An exciting opportunity has come up in the Bonnier Books UK communications team for an energetic PR professional who will be responsible for their own authors and campaigns.
The position is ideal for a keen self-starter, who has been in PR or publishing for at least 12 months and looking for the next step. If you want to work for a publisher with a difference, we want to hear from you.
Summary of Position:
Our adult non-fiction imprints publish a variety of genres including music, sports, showbiz, quirky gift books and humour titles, health, cookery & lifestyle, and real life/true crime. Under the supervision of the Communications Director and the Publicity Director you will be responsible for planning, organising and implementing publicity campaigns for your own authors and books.
Our aim is to achieve the best possible media coverage and consumer awareness leading up to and beyond the publication of our titles and we work closely with editorial, sales, social media and marketing teams. Duties will include but are not limited to: creating campaign plans, writing press releases, contacting journalists about interview opportunities and serial interest, creating media lists using Gorkana, sending out review copies, following up queries, accompanying authors to interviews and assisting with book signing tours and events associated with key titles.
What we’re looking for:
A candidate that has at least 12 month’s experience working in a communications team for a publishing house. You are either a Publicity Assistant or Press Officer who has assisted on high profile campaigns and are familiar with how book publicity teams work in commercial non-fiction publishing, or have recently started taking responsibility for your own campaigns and are ready for the next step in a new environment. The ideal person will be self-motivated, a good communicator, steady under pressure and good at juggling priorities. Must have good communication skills, be organised and able to multi-task. You should be comfortable dealing with authors, agents, booksellers, journalists and bloggers as well as senior colleagues internally.
In return we offer you the chance to work with and learn from some of the best publicists in the industry, in a dynamic, fast-paced publishing house. Bonnier Books UK offers a competitive salary and benefits including health care and pension scheme.
