2026 Mentorship Scheme

THE PUBLISHERS’ PUBLICITY CIRCLE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE 10TH YEAR OF THE

BOOK PUBLICIST MENTORING SCHEME

The Publishers’ Publicity Circle are thrilled to announce the tenth consecutive year of the PPC mentoring scheme, which will begin in January 2026. The application window for both mentees and mentors opens today and publicists of all levels are encouraged to apply.

The 2025 scheme has been a huge success, with publicists from in-house, freelance, agencies, big and small companies being paired up, covering fiction, non-fiction and children’s publicity. The PPC allows former mentors to apply multiple years in a row.

The mentorship programme was designed by the PPC committee to offer publicists in the publishing industry the chance to learn from each other, pairing mentees and mentors strategically so that they gain experience across the spectrum of big publishers, independents and PR agencies. The pairs then meet monthly to share advice and learnings from their book publicity campaigns. From campaign planning to career development, the aim of the scheme is to give successful applicants the opportunity to acquire knowledge and build their publishing network. The application deadline is Monday 1st December for both mentors and mentees.

Eve Wersocki-Morris, PPC Chair said: ‘The PPC Mentorship is one of the most important services the PPC offers its members. It helps members build vital networks across publishing houses and PR agencies which are crucial to career development. It is a hugely beneficial experience for both mentees and mentors. Mentors can join the scheme at any point in their careers – it’s the perfect opportunity for mid-level publicists to develop their coaching and managerial skills and a fantastic chance for experienced, senior publicists to share their extensive knowledge. I’ve previously taken part of a mentor myself and it has been wonderful to help support and guide a new generation of publicists. To anyone who hadn’t been part of this scheme before: give it a go in 2026!”

PPC Mentor Emily Souders, Campaigns Director at Riot Communications said: ‘I’ve really loved being part of the PPC Mentorship Scheme this year. I was matched with a brilliant, well-suited mentee who has been a joy to get to know. It’s been so rewarding to support her as she finds her feet in the industry. I truly believe it’s vital, in what can sometimes feel like a closed-door profession, to put down the ladder behind us and help others find their way in. I’d highly recommend getting involved.’

Further information about the scheme and instructions on how to apply can be found in the online application pack downloadable from the PPC website. All applicants must be PPC members, and the deadline is 5.30pm on Monday 1st December for both mentors and mentees.

Successful applicants will be matched with their mentor by the end of December ready to start the

scheme in January 2026.
