FMcM, the books PR agency, is looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic, and versatile
Communications Officer to work with the team on books and author project campaigns and
to provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of our business. The
successful candidate will be closely involved with campaigns for some of the most prominent
authors, publishers and initiatives in the industry.

of the most dynamic publishers and imprints in the industry including Penguin Random
House, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Dialogue Books, Dead Ink, Salt, Divided and
Seren Books.

Awards, Polari Prize, the Cundill History Prize and the Sunday Time Charlotte Aitken Young
Writer of the Year Award, opens doors to a breadth of new media and partnership
opportunities.

force for good in society and we are proud to advocate for marginalised writers and poets
through select pro bono campaigns.
Responsibilities:
Build network of contacts including media, influencers, partners and events to
support outreach across a range of books and projects
Produce press releases and campaign reports
Conduct research in key areas to underpin campaign planning
Maintain client and contact databases for the team
Arrange client schedules and book travel
Assist with running company social media channels, producing copy, graphics and
other marketing materials
Organise mailings and handle general media enquiries
Perform administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the office
Coordinate internal and external meetings, maintain agendas, minutes and diaries
Collate and distribute media coverage
Support the organisation and delivery of events
Requirements:
1-2 years’ previous work experience in related arts and communications roles
A working knowledge of the media landscape and publishing industry
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
A clear understanding of a strategic publicity campaign
Highly organised with an aptitude for multi-tasking and flexibility
A pro-active approach to growing relationships with journalists and influencers
Team player with a positive attitude
Professional, enthusiastic proactive, and organised
Ability to prioritise and juggle competing demands in a busy office
Curiosity in a range of genres and ability to work on a wide variety of projects
Skilled in the use of MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel) and the Adobe
Creative Suite
This is a permanent, full-time position based in our London office.
