The role
We are looking to recruit a Publicity Executive to plan and implement publicity campaigns and events across a range of titles on the adult list, including commercial non-fiction, fiction and crime, with the support of a wider, collaborative publicity team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Publicity Assistant that is looking to step into a new role, as well as already established Press Officers / Publicists. We also welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills and a passion for publicity who are looking to take the next step in their career.
The ideal candidate will have existing media contacts and the ability to develop these and build new relationships, as well as a strong awareness of social and online media. They will enjoy being part of a team and will have experience of working with authors and agents, the media, book trade and events partners, in addition to colleagues in the editorial, sales and marketing teams. They will have excellent communication, time management and organisational skills, and an understanding of what is required to drive commercial success and how to reach diverse audiences through their campaigns.
Reporting to the Senior Publicity Manager, the role will also involve supporting the wider Faber publicity team on campaigns and key aspects of administration.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing publicity campaigns to drive sales and enhance author profiles. They will coordinate author tours with bookshops, festivals, and venues, and accompany authors to events. Key duties include compiling press releases, pitching books and authors to media and event planners, and tracking media coverage while keeping authors, agents, and internal departments updated.
They will manage author schedules and all campaign-related administration, ensuring excellent care for both authors and agents. Building and maintaining strong relationships with media contacts across all channels is essential, along with staying up to date with industry trends and researching new promotional opportunities. Additionally, they will support other publicists on campaigns, handle key administrative tasks such as compiling weekly campaign updates, managing Bookseller submissions, and assisting with the organisation and running of events.
This is a permanent full-time position based in our London office, requiring a minimum of 3 days in the office per week. Some evening and weekend work will be required
