dynamic and significant voices. The current list spans Nobel laureates, bestselling fiction,
award-winning non-fiction, poetry, film, classical music and drama alongside an unrivalled
backlist.
The role
We are looking to recruit a Publicity Executive to plan and implement publicity campaigns
and events for commercial non-fiction, fiction, and crime titles on the adult list.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has enthusiasm for these areas of publicity,
and knowledge of delivering creative campaigns using a range of media and events. The
ideal candidate will have a wide network of contacts and a strong awareness of social and
online media. They will enjoy being part of a team and will have experience of working with
authors and agents, the media, book trade and events partners, in addition to working with
colleagues in the Editorial, Sales and Marketing teams. They will have excellent
communication, time management and organisational skills, and an understanding of what
is required to drive commercial success and how to reach diverse audiences through their
campaigns.
Reporting to the Senior Publicity Manager, the role will also involve supporting the wider
Faber publicity team in certain key aspects of administration.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing publicity
campaigns to drive sales and enhance author profiles. You will coordinate author tours with
bookshops, festivals, and venues, and accompany authors to events. Key duties include
compiling press releases, pitching books and authors to media and event planners, and
tracking media coverage while keeping authors, agents, and internal departments updated.
You will manage author schedules and all campaign-related administration, ensuring
excellent care for both authors and agents. Building and maintaining strong relationships
with media contacts across all channels is essential, along with staying up to date with
industry trends and researching new promotional opportunities. Additionally, you will
support other publicists on campaigns, handle key administrative tasks such as compiling
weekly campaign updates, managing Bookseller submissions, and assisting with the
organisation and running of events.
